The Dreaming is an award winning animation series recommended by educational institutions throughout Australia. There are 6 parts to the complete series, and each looks at unique Indigenous stories, beautifully animated by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.
Suitable for ages 5-9 years.

NAIDOC in the City is a free celebration of the world’s longest living Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Enjoy food, song, art, dance and stories in the heart of the city.
The City of Sydney supports NAIDOC Week, which runs from 7 to 14 July 2019. Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future is the theme for this year, reflecting the 3 key elements set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart. 2019 is also the United Nations International Year of Indigenous Languages.

Knowledge and Culture
Learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with educational and interactive displays.
Participants include the Art Gallery of NSW, the Australian Museum, UTS, the Australian Film, Television and Radio School’s Indigenous Unit, the State Library of NSW, the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia and the City of Sydney’s Eora Journey.
Healing Space
The Healing Space explores the national NAIDOC Week theme, Voice.Treaty.Truth.
We acknowledge this theme may be emotional for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as they reflect on what it means to them, their families and communities.
The Healing Space will host activities that promote self-care and healing through weaving and jewellery making workshops and a community art mural.
Art Gallery
Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative presents a collaborative art exhibition with APY Art Centre Collective.
Both organisations will have some amazing art pieces available to buy on the day.
Informative and engaging talks will be hosted at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. Visit the Art Gallery tent for more information.
Food zone
11am–3pm – Food stalls available
Sample mouth watering bites such as crocodile sang choy bau and kangaroo chilli pies.
Midday – Earth Oven
Taste some tucker from the two earth oven pits dug in Hyde Park. Earth ovens are a traditional method of cooking underground using hot rocks and natural materials to seal in the heat and slow cook food for hours.
Marketplace
Come along to NAIDOC’s marketplace to buy local and authentic art, craft and produce from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.

About
Ballet for Better Balance 55+™ Level 1 Seniors ballet class welcomes Seniors with some previous ballet training.
This class will suit Seniors wanting to reignite their passion for ballet after hanging up their ballet shoes for decades.
Age is no barrier as there are students who rekindled their interest at the age of 80 and upwards.
The class aims to improve balance, stability and coordination by focusing on developing and improving feet dexterity and hence proprioception, as well as using muscles that don’t normally get used in other forms of exercises, such as the intrinsic muscles of the feet. The classes are taught at a gentle pace to allow dancers to feel comfortable and at ease with the movements.
All exercises are choreographed to classical ballet music so dancers are able to get the true experience of a traditional ballet class.

WINTERLIGHT 2019
Winterlight is returning to Parramatta these July school holidays! Skate, Eat and Play at Winterlight, where magic happens every day Friday, 5 July – Sunday, 21 July.
Discover a winter wonderland right here in the heart of City of Parramatta. Skate the day away on the largest open-air ice rink in Sydney or slide down the 30 metre long Winterlight ice slide. Little ones can skate in a safe environment in the dedicated kid’s sessions at the start of each day. Back and better than ever, the Alpine Food Village will host a range of delicious food vendors.
